How To Ensure Youre Being Treated Honestly At A

Finding a dealer that will treat you with enough respect to give it to you honestly is rare. But there are ways that you can safeguard your interest in a vehicle. Most people don’t understand the functions and the full mechanical makeup of a vehicle and telling you everything that you should look at would be too much. For a small fee you can have someone with the expertise look at it for you. After all you can’t tell whether or not the ball joints or the bushings are good. Taking the vehicle for a test drive is always a good idea, not just to see whether or not t here are things that you can sense wrong with it, but all cars drive differently; you might not like the ride. The dealer itself has dealer plates, therefore they have insurance and it might not be necessary for you to obtain insurance for the test drive. He might require it, so check with your insurance company to see if they will cover you while on your test drive. Purchasing a new car is different than purchasing a used car. New cars come with a warrantee that will repair anything that happens, even when you drive if off the lot. Used cars on the other hand many have many issues that even the dealer you purchase it from didn’t pay attention to. This is why when you are on your test drive you should take this vehicle to a mechanic that you trust. If you have a family member that is a mechanic, even better. The small fee that you would give this mechanic is well worth it, it could have you thousands of dollars. Have your mechanic make a punch list of all the things that would need to replaced in the vehicle and the cost associated with these repairs. If you feel that this might be a car that you want to purchase, then you should get a second opinion on the repairs that are needed. Once you have this list then you should bring it back to the dealer and tell him the things that you found out about the vehicle and see what steps he would be willing to take to compensate for the repairs that are needed. If the dealership insists that these items are not wrong with the car then you know he is just thinking of you as someone who is just going to put money in their pocket and your concerns don’t matter. If the dealership is not willing to do anything, then you know that this is not a company that you want to do business with. If on the other hand, they are willing to either reduce the price of the car to compensate for the repairs or have the repairs made, then they just might be someone that you want to deal with. Any company that is willing to meet you at least half way respects you and want to keep you as a customer.
